After lending her voice to animated caper Over the Hedge, Avril will appear in one scene in “The Flock” with Richard Gere.
Even tho is only one scene she hopes she will get more offers in the future.
"I have one scene in it. It’s with Claire Danes and Richard Gere, and Richard Gere was, like, really cool. In between takes he was like totally giving me pointers. It was so crazy; I’ve known of him since I was so little. My parents thought that was so cool".

If she plays her moody, cranky, bitter-self, she’s okay.. If the part calls for happy, nice and carefree, she’s in trouble.
re: d.c’s comments…
Avril’s image WAS a bit “moody” (cranky and bitter I wouldn’t agree with) but if you look at some photos of her in the past year, especially within the past few months, you’ll notice she is much happier LOOKING – and I’ll bet she was always pretty happy anyays, no matter what image she showed in her press photos. The pic for this story is an old one.
I think she is doing great and exploring new interests as she gets older. And Avril is smart enough to start her movie career slowwwwly.
This month (May) ‘Over the Hedge’ comes out where she provides the voice of one the characters in a minor rol – “Heather” the possum, and her dad character is voiced by William Shatner.
And in ‘The Flock’ she only has one scene from what I know (since it isn’t out yet). So it’s not like she is trying to use her star power to get the leading role in her own movie (which, as any huge star, she could get if she wanted to).
