After 11 years of being together, Angelina and Brad Pitt, are one of Hollywood’s longest marriages. The couple filed for divorce back in 2016 and through a series of custody battles and relationship dynamics, declared divorce in 2019.
Jolie filed a motion to disqualify the private judge currently overseeing her divorce because of his alleged connection to Pitt. Jolie and Pitt opted for a private judge to keep divorce details sealed. The motion with the Los Angeles Superior Court alleges that Judge John W. Ouderkirk has a business relationship with Pitt and “failed to disclose the cases that demonstrated the current, ongoing, repeat-customer relationship between the judge and Respondent’s counsel.” Jolie’s legal team says that Pitt’s attorney “actively advocated for Judge Ouderkirk’s financial interests in moving — over the opposing party’s opposition — to have his appointment (and his ability to continue to receive fees) extended in a high profile case.”
